That only stands to reason in that the autoimmune deficiency diseases already have an over active immune system.

Products should support support and maintain the immune system; they should'nt boost the immune system. Our physical and emotional health is dependent on a balanced immune system.

Here's a few tips from the CDC:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American College of Sports Medicine now recommend that most adults accumulate 30 minutes or more of moderate-intensity on most, preferably every, day of the week. Moderate activity produces many health benefits – it will allow you to burn fat for energy (weight loss), build additional blood supply to muscles and increase cellular energy production. It will help prevent and is important in the treatment of heart attacks, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, osteoporosis, anxiety and depression. An increase in physical activity is associated with a decreased risk of death1.

What is moderate activity? Walking 1.5 – 2.0 miles in 30 minutes. The activity does not have to take place all at one time. It can be performed in 1 30-minute bout, 2 15-minute bouts, 3 10-minute bouts, 6 5-minute bouts, etc. What if you don’t have time to exercise? Make it part of your daily routine. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Walk at lunch. Walk in the evening instead of watching TV.

Physical activity, whether work, exercise or sports participation, does result in reparable injury to the bodies connective tissues. These include tendons, ligaments, muscles, cartilage and bone. Collagen is a form of protein that acts as a scaffold to provide strength in connective tissue. Collagen is produced by specialized cells known as fibroblasts through a complex series of events mediated by the immune system.

Much of the repair process is coordinated by soluble glycoproteins known as cytokines, which are produced by and mediate communication between immune cells and the various systems throughout the body2. Physical activity induces an increase in pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-alpha, IL-1beta and IL-63. The concentration of IL-6 can increase up to 100-fold after running a marathon4. This is balanced by a release of cytokine inhibitors IL-1ra, sTNF-r1, sTNF-r2 and IL-103.

An imbalance in immune function can lead to inadequate repair. This, in conjunction with repetitive stress, can lead to overuse injuries associated with decreased performance, fatigue and pain. Aging is associated with increased inflammatory activity and increased plasma levels of TNF-alpha, IL-6 and C-reactive protein5. This results in a reduced ability to adapt to and recover from physical stress.

Begin exercising slowly. The affects of activity are cumulative over time. If you have never exercised before, begin with 15 minutes of walking or other moderate activity per day. Increase the length of time, distance or intensity by no more than 10% per week until you reach the recommended 30 minutes per day. This will allow time for your body to adapt to increased physical activity and help prevent overuse injury.

Wear running shoes when walking. Running shoes provide much better support than walking shoes. Find a pair that is comfortable and fits your budget. Only walk a total of 300 miles in a pair of shoes - no matter how much or little you spend, they only provide proper support for 300 miles. After that, you have a greater risk of injury.

What if you don’t like walking? Other example of moderate activity include:
1. Cycling < 10mph
2. Swimming, moderate effort
3. Conditioning exercises, general calisthenics
4. Racquet sports (tennis, racquetball)
5. Golf – pulling cart or carrying clubs. [Not riding in the cart!]
6. Canoeing, leisurely (2.0 – 3.9mph)
7. Yard work

More on the immune system...

How To Feel Better And Avoid Illness

Every moment of your life,

Your Immune System, stands between you and death.

Medical Journals and Major Institutions report;

Due to environmental trauma, stress, "super bugs", poor nutrition
and other modern day conditions, the Human Immune System is
losing it's ability to protect the body.
